It’s pretty obvious if you are around here much that I had a design change, but I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about it.
Things have changed so much over the course of my first year blogging. When I started this blog I was really unprepared, but one of the things I learned quickly was that you need a good header image, something to set you apart. In my first month I worked very hard trying to come up with something. I went through about 4 different header changes. I searched and searched for just the right picture, but never found that perfect one for Life After Laundry. Continue reading
I know right now you are seeing all the cute little Father’s Day gift ideas going around on Pinterest and other places, but none of that is what the fathers in my life want this year. My dad never got into the tie gift. He doesn’t play golf or have an obsessive interest in sports. So, there goes all your cute Father’s Day ideas. He is just interested in practical gift, although he would always tell us just being his daughter was gift enough. Sweet, huh? But, that doesn’t help me when I’m trying to buy a gift.
So, if my dad isn’t hard enough to buy for, what did I do? Marry a man with the exact same view. So, now I have two of them, and can’t come up with a gift idea for the life of me. A practical, non traditional Father’s Day Gift…
As I thought over this I decided what Fathers really need is a few more “thank you’s” throughout the year, not just one day a year, but maybe once a day for the year. I’m very blessed with a wonderful Dad, and an amazing husband who is that to our son, and I don’t show my appreciation for them nearly enough. I came up with this little project as a way to make it easy to say thank you even in January.
Please meet my new Janome sewing machine. I have never felt this way about a machine before, but yes, it’s love. I’m way out of my league on this one, my skills aren’t nearly up to par with what this little beauty can do, but I’ll get there. Continue reading

Last Saturday I attended my very first in person blog conference. It isn’t often that I see big conferences in my area (It seems like the ones I want to attend are always in Utah), so when I found out about Bloggy Boot Camp I was thrilled.
